Electrical Mast Flashing —

is a waterproof boot that seals where the home’s electrical service mast passes through the roof.

Because electrical masts often pass through the soffit rather than an interior wall, leaks can remain hidden until the surrounding wood begins to stain, rot, or sag.

QUICK ANSWERS

  • Completed electrical service mast repair and electrical service mast with missing flashing on an asphalt shingle roof
  • Shingles removed and roof decking exposed around an electrical mast
  • Waterproof membrane and new flashing installed around an electrical mast
  • Completed electrical mast flashing repair with shingles reinstalled
  • Finished electrical mast flashing protecting the roof and soffit from leaks

Warning signs: Sagging or stained soffit, rotted roof decking, damaged shingles, or visible gaps where the electrical mast enters the roof

Typical solution: Remove the surrounding shingles, repair damaged decking, and install new flashing with protective membrane above and below it

Expected longevity: Life of the surrounding roof when properly installed

Pricing: Evaluation required (dependent on accessibility, roof steepness, and the amount of hidden wood damage)
